Autokick Feature
...What it means to an admin
Monitor pings
If you have a ping limit on your server, the game only checks the player’s ping once – when they join. Since pings change over time, you’re server could be impacted. Autokick will monitor player’s pings and, if someone has a consistently high ping, kick them from the server.
Word Ban
If you want to keep players with offensive names off your server, Autokick will continually monitor player names and boot anyone who violates your name rules.
Kick Players
Kicking can be a hassle – players put lots of hard to read characters in their names, the status results scroll off your console window. Just a big pain. With Autokick, just hit Alt-Tab to bring up the player list and click on the player you want to boot. Then, click the Kick button. Done.
Ban Players
Banning does not work with Allied Assault and can be hassle with Spearhead. In Autokick, you ban players the same way you kick them. Press Alt-Tab, click on the player’s name and click on a button. Done.
Player Immunity
Some players (such as yourself) you don’t want to have kicked from the server for things like high ping. You can give Autokick a list of IP addresses that are immune to automatic kicking (but anyone can always be purposely kicked by you from the player list).
Name Theft
Ever have someone who is being a jerk on a server change their name to yours? The admin doesn’t know who is who. It’s like that Star Trek episode where there are two Kirks – which one should Spock shoot (er, uh, not that we’d know)? Autokick time stamps each person’s name so it knows who is who. You can set it up to automatically warn name stealers to change their names and, if they don’t, kick them.
Console
Autokick will allow you to send console commands to your server without joining it as a player. Restarting, changing maps, etc., can all be done remotely. You don’t even need to have the game installed on the machine that is running Autokick.
Announcements
Communicating with your server’s community can be difficult. Players often don’t know what maps or mods you are running, what your web page is, etc. Autokick will allow you to broadcast into the server’s chat stream, so you can send automatic messages on a cycle.
Chat Variables
When sending announcements to the server, Autokick will allow you to embed certain information (ie variables) in your announcements about your server’s activity. For example, can include the number of players currently on the server, how many maps the server has run that day, etc.
Server Stats
Autokick maintains a running total of the number of players on your server, as well as map counts and ping stats.
Systray Icon
Autokick will minimize to the system tray and provide you with status updates at a glance. When scanning, the icon will blink and mousing over will tell you the current map, player count and ping stats.
Autostart
If you need to run Autokick unattended, you can have it start to scan as soon as it starts up.
Logs
Autokick will keep logs of each scan of your server. If someone reports a cheater or Tker to you over e-mail, you can search the log and obtain the IP address of the offender to ban him.
Quickscan
If you wish to scan your server in very short cycles (less than 20 seconds), Autokick can be configured to use the same scanning process game browsers use to put minimal load on the server.
